SEIKO Signs Leading Soccer Icon Landon Donovan as US Brand Ambassador 
Donovan to Represent 2011 SEIKO Watch Collection as First Ever Athlete Spokesperson
Mahwah,  NJ (March 21, 2011) – SEIKO Corporation of America is pleased to  announce the appointment of US soccer icon Landon Donovan as the  world-renowned watchmaker’s new Brand Ambassador.  
“I  always have looked for a watch that keeps up with my active lifestyle,  which is why I like the comfort, innovation and design of the SEIKO  Sportura Collection,” said Donovan, who is represented by Wasserman  Media Group.  “I am honored to be the first athlete to join the SEIKO  family as a Brand Ambassador, and anticipate celebrating their  dedication to perfection and launch of the new, dynamic timepieces that  will once again demonstrate that SEIKO is the revolutionary front runner  in watchmaking worldwide.”

A  competitive soccer player since the age of five, Donovan is the Captain  of the Los Angeles Galaxy Major League Soccer team and the all-time  leader in scoring and assists for the U.S. National Team.  Donovan also  has the most caps (international appearances) of all active US players,  he is a four-time winner of the U.S. Soccer “Male Athlete of the Year”  award and a six-time recipient of the “Honda Player of the Year” award.   During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Donovan was the driving  force behind the U.S. winning their group for the first time since  1930.  Donovan is involved with many charitable initiatives including  the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and he is an  active supporter of the Wild Soccer Bunch, a series of educational books for young children.
