JOHN LENNON PEACE MONUMENT
Liverpool, England (September 24, 2010) – A global peace monument is to be gifted to the people of Europe on the occasion of John Lennon’s 70th birthday. It will be unveiled as part of a gala ceremony in Lennon’s birthplace of Liverpool by his eldest son Julian and first wife Cynthia.
Taking place on Lennon’s birth date of October 9th, the unveiling of the 18ft monument entitled ‘Imagine Peace & Harmony’ in Liverpool city centre will be attended by two thousand dignitaries and fans from all over the world and will form the most significant global birthday celebration dedicated to John’s life and work.
Commissioned by the Global Peace Initiative, an American arts organization dedicated to creating peace monuments around the world to promote global peace, the European Peace Monument has been created by American art prodigy Lauren Voiers in Phoenix, Arizona. When unveiled in Liverpool’s Chavasse Park - a five acre green space in the heart of the city overlooking the River Mersey - it will give hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city the opportunity to celebrate the life and spirit of Lennon and his message of peace.
According to Julian, “I like the idea that a young, creative artist is inspired to leave a permanent reminder of a message of peace. I think Dad would have liked this too, so it is in his honor and memory that I agreed to take part in this event on his birthday.”
Lauren Voiers has been asked by Julian to incorporate, within the monument’s design, a white feather – which to Julian is a symbol of both his father's spirit and of peace. As Julian Lennon explains: “One of the things my father said to me was that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok, it was by, in some shape or form, presenting me with a white feather.”
The unveiling of the monument by the Lennon family is a remarkable moment in Liverpool’s cultural history and one that will be remembered for many years to come. And the fact that this event is to be attended by dignitaries from all over the European Union shows the significance of the monument holds to the wider global community.

“Lennon’s message of peace is timeless and is one that is now more relevant than ever. We hope that this imposing monument dedicated to John will become a place that people from all over the world will visit to contemplate peace and John Lennon’s contribution to it through his music.
“Liverpool is the only ideal destination for such a remarkable monument and we feel sure that it will take on a global significance as word travels round the world that there is a place to go to in England where people can meet under the timeless banner of peace.”
The unveiling of the John Lennon Peace Monument will take place on the morning of Saturday 9th October 2010. Joining Julian and Cynthia Lennon will be Ambassadors and other representatives from the EU, Members of Parliament, leaders of the city of Liverpool, the Global Peace Initiative, The Beatles Story, Liverpool ONE and of course the artist Lauren Voiers.
The John Lennon Peace Monument is the second peace monument to be gifted by the Global Peace Initiative. The first was gifted to the people of Asia in 2005, was accepted by the President of Singapore and has a permanent home in his country. There are plans for a third monument to be gifted to the people of South America as part of a pledge by the Global Peace Initiative to reach out to all continents with their message.
A ticketed event for just 2000 people there will be very limited interview, photographic and filming opportunities available for key media on the day.

Geneva- Covered By His Blood where did the title come from?
Tee- Well it's actually a double meaning which involves real blood. You have to stay tuned to find out!!
Geneva- Now when casting a movie, what is the hardest part?
Tee- For this movie, Faye Childs did the casting. She's a really amazing writer from New Orleans. You can see more about her on the website www.coveredbyhisblood.com ....But from the outside looking in, I would say that the hardest part of casting for a script is three things. First and foremost, finding people who are believable actors who can bring the character to life. Secondly, finding someone who is dedicated and loyal. You want someone who is passionate about their craft and a person who isn't going to disappear unexpectedly or not show up the day of the shoot. And lastly, its important to find actors with a good personality. You want some one who is a people person who is easy to get along with because you will be on the set with this person normally for 8-12 hour shoots. You don't someone coming with a list of demands, a diva attitude or some one who is unreasonable. That can really sabotage your project.Tee Platinum- Thanks! It's my pleasure!

Geneva- I guess my first question should have been, how did this film come about?
Tee- I initiated the project and brought in the people who I thought were best suited to pull off what I needed done to do my part as an video editor in post production. Alex of Smart Aleck Films was the cinematographer, the best in Atlanta may I add. And like I mentioned before, Faye Childs was the script writer and casting director. It was kind of like after the situation was masterminded, they set up the play for the 3 point shot.
Geneva- Can you tell us about the cast for this film?
Tee- The cast is comprised of 4 or 5 main characters. Kerry is the main character. She is young and naive in love. (Played by Honey Johnson). She is in love with her new boyfriend Jordan (played by Brian Knight) who she brings home for Christmas dinner to meet her family. Everybody seems to love him instantly except Kerry's mother (played by Jo Lynn Merriweather) who gets a bad feeling or vibe about Jordan. Then the drama begins! Jordan's sister, Jay (played by Charlie J), pops up to the dinner to pick up her brother. Keep in mind that Kerry never knew Jordan had a sister all of this time because she's the "black sheep of the family". Then Kerry and Jay start hanging out and doing things you wouldn't believe. Then things spiral out of control until Kerry is literally fighting for her life. But to answer your question, the cast did a great job! They put in a lot of hard work! Many of them are new faces but I know that we have a few potential superstars on our hands! Your fans can be the judge! www.coveredbyhisblood.com
Geneva- What do you want viewers to get from this film?
Tee- We want the viewers to entertained, enlightened and educated all at the same time! And to keep in mind that everything that glitters isn't gold. And money isn't everything or worth selling your soul over. It's good to have nice things, but you shouldn't lose who you are in trying to obtain them.

LUDA WEEKEND - CELEBRITY BASKETBALL GAME
Ludacris Weekend Celebrity Basketball Game With Chris Brown, Chris Paul, Nelly and many more celebrities came out to play a game of basketball. Atlanta received a real treat when their favorite celebs and suited up to play a friendly one on one game! Nonstop action between both teams, and a little intermission half time show when a fan challenged Chris Brown to a dance off, well we all know who won that challenge! However if you missed out here is a recap of all the action you missed out on. Ludacris knows how to entertain the fans and his "Weekend Celebrity Basketball Game" did just that for the fans and the players! The game was close but in the end team LUDA wins and final score 88-86 and the competitive game was entertaining, jaw dropping, and countless laughs!
