DAVID BANNER & 9TH Wonder

Who is taking a strong stand on standards none other then David Banner and his good longtime friend 9TH Wonder? "Death Of A Popstar" is the album of the decade and from the snippets that fans have heard we are not ready but so appreciative of the movement! David Banner has joined forces for the first time with 9TH Wonder to bring out the music the game has long for without the "Political stress" of the machine! We recently saw the direction this album was taking with the release of "Slow Down" which featured Core Models own Marquita "Ms. Hollywood" Childress herself. The video is a deeper look into what we can expect, however it's the lyrics that draw you in making you pay attention! David Banner made some very thought provoking statements in his above discussion of "Death Of A Popstar" I hope your listening! This is a movement that needs to be stood by, many of us have lost focus and even have lost our appreciation for the music we are rooted in deeply! However it's not just a movement it's a mind opening chance to change the way we listen, react, and live! So this is just a taste of what's to come, and the artist have already started to follow suite and support the amazing efforts of these two well accomplished men! This discussion was held at 92Y TriBeca also please be advised of the language! However you can't help but feel the passion behind this movement, and applaud however it's not just about supporting vocally but physically with the actions to promote change! Many of us have can  help but don't and now is the time to do what we can with what we have! So go out and support "Death Of A Popstar" and do something positive in your community no more complaining if your not willing to WORK!

GloZell - The Queen of Comedy Interview

GloZell: Where Comedy Is Beautiful
Interviewed by: Geneva Relf

Geneva: First let me say thank you for this opportunity. How are you doing today?

GloZell: Great! The world is working in my favor. The better it gets, the better it sho nuff gets... LOL.

Geneva: For those who have yet to be introduced to you, can you please introduce Yourself?

GloZell: I am GloZell with over 857 videos I am the Queen of You Tube.

Geneva: Now your a comic, can you tell us how you got your start?

GloZell: I started by telling stories of how I grew up and people would fall out laughing. And everywhere I went from elementary school to University of Florida (Go Gators) people told me I am a comic. But I had no desire to be on stage by myself. I tried working with other actors in Florida but no one is going to take your dream as seriously as you are. So after dealing with actors who aren't as serious as I am, I realized I really have to move to California or New York. However New York is way too cold and I am very happy in California. Performing by myself.

Geneva: When you take the stage, do you still get nervous or are you comfortable now on stage?

GloZell: I am sick backstage. Can't eat, don't want to talk to anyone, stomach in knots... every time. It doesn't matter if it's 5 Thousand at a stadium or a few at a church. I'm a wreck. I'm fine when I hit the stage but a Hot Mess before.

Geneva: Comedy cannot be easy how do you do it?

GloZell: I make myself. Getting booked is the easy part. Then I have to promote promote promote. And be funny every time ... AHHHHHHHHH. So just getting on stage is more than most are willing to try.

Geneva: Your Youtube videos are hilarious, how do you come up with your material?

GloZell: Ha ha ha Geneva thanks for watching. All my videos are based on my real life exsperiences, my thoughts, and people I know.

Geneva: Your signature closing to your videos how did that come about?

GloZell: I loVed the fact that Carol Burnett tugged her ear at the end of her show. And I wanted something like her. I would just fall out if I met her. FALL RIGHT ON OUT. So I didn't know I was doing that until a friend of mine told me to stop it because it was annoying. Glad I didn't.

Geneva: When did you realize that you had arrived in comedy?

GloZell: When people are coming up to me and ask " Are you GloZell?" "May I take a Picture" LOL I love it when people come up to me instead of just staring or trying to sneak a picture. As long as people are nice, I don't mind taking a picture.

The biggest is when Perez Hilton posted two of my videos ( I'm just tearing up because I have been doing videos for three years just knowing someone who could do something for me will find me) on Perez Hilton.Com. You never know who will help you. I was thinking Oprah, Tryra, Wendy Williams you know... a Sistah ... but I still got the Queen of Media ... ha ha ha.

Geneva: Now you have a unique name, and I know your named after your parents. When you tell people your name do they believe you?

GloZell: I explain my name every single day. NO JOKE when I say my name people think I made it up. That's why I start my Comedy routine with "Hi my name is GloZell Yes that is my real name" LOL ( G Please don't forget to put a capitol Z ... thanks... ooh I'm all Diva now chile)

Geneva: How would you describe yourself? If someone wanted to know who the real you was how would you tell them?

GloZell: A big kid. Adults never seemed fun to me so I didn't care to be one. I am how you see me on the videos. It's interesting now because I am recognized and people just stare waiting for me to do something funny. I sat next to this young lady at church and she text " I'm sitting next to GloZell" ... I leaned over and said yes you are. So I'm me... I am sure someone will tell me if I start to change. Geneva, if you interviewed my family, Ma'dear, Aunts, Uncles, Mom and sister... they will tell you I haven't changed. Always hanging where the people are having fun... no matter what group, gender, race or religion. If you like me... I like you.

Geneva: You have been on many shows what was the highlight show for you?

GloZell: Showtime at the Apollo... it's legendary. Monique' was hosting it then. The one I'm waiting on... the big highlight will be hosting Saturday Night Live!

Geneva: What upcoming comedy, and shows can we look forward to?

GloZell: Guess spots Tosh.O (Comedy Central) Howard Sterns, Sit-coms and Commercials ( Ooh if I could be like the Pine -Sol Lady cha ching! Ha ha ha) voice overs and MY OWN SHOW!

Geneva: Who do you inspire to work with one day?

GloZell: SNL, Robin Williams, Tim Conway, Tyler Perry, Jim Carry,Queen Latifah, Beyonce', Stevie Wonder, Bett Mitler, Barbra Streisand, CAROL BURNETTE, Gary Marshal, Tom Hanks, Russel Brand, Sasha Berren Cohen the list goes on and on...

Geneva: Outside of comedy where else can we find GloZell?

GloZell: At Starbucks... no really. I am letting my Fans/Friends know what Starbucks I will be chilling at and to bring your cameras. It's been working. A lot of my fans are young and can't come into the comedy clubs and it cost so much. I wanted to meet the people who post and enjoy my videos so this works out. Parents come and meet me also. It's a win win situation. Plenty of free parking, safe environment, great drinks.

Geneva: When your doing your stand up what do you think makes you so relate able to your audiences?

GloZell: I talk about issues that everyone else are talking about in their homes. Relationships, race, politics the whole nine without putting anyone down. I stopped going to clubs at one time because the comedy was mean. That's not my style but I respect that everyone can do what they want.

Geneva: When it comes to dating is it easier inside the industry or outside?

GloZell: OUTSIDE.... oh my... I have dated comics. NEVER on NEVER again. Okay never say never they can be in the industry but not an actor UNLESS it's Alec Baldwin.

Geneva: Do you think it's harder for female comics to break into the industry?

GloZell: Not now... oooh we are doing and doing it and doing it well. So many shows are using female comics. If you are persistent, your season is coming.

Geneva: What's the next level for GloZell?

GloZell: Financial freedom. I want a home, a car with two side-view mirrors, perfect husband and children. The American Dream. And a little dog too hee hee hee.

Geneva: Now your friends with a major designer from Project Runway. Can you tell us how you two meet and became friends?

GloZell: AH Koto I met her though a mutual friend and she and I hit it off. Koto is very very funny and we are Ba donky donk Sisters HA!!! ... I really enjoy spending time with her. LoVe her clothes.

Geneva: Can you take us through a day in the life of GloZell?

GloZell: I get up early around 5.30 6 AM and start answering fan mail, and comments from GloZell1 on You tube. Post a video and a funny statement on facebook, twitter, and my blog GloZell.Com. Then think of what happened that would make for a good video.

Geneva: I have to ask "Peter in the Perk" how did that come about?

GloZell: I wanted to do a Soap Opera... it was called Ghetto and Straight Lace. I was on my way to the Park/Perk to meet the actor playing Peter when I saw a car on fire so I picked up my camera... then realized I had on my Kool-aid hair so I went with it. While driving a car almost hit me and I glanced in the mirror and say my lips were chapped. I wasn't going to put that video up because I was looking a hot mess. One week I just didn't have any videos to put up and I put that one up and didn't look at it. Months later the hits were jumping by the thousands... it's close to 4 Million hits now. And the videos I did of Ghetto and Straight Lace never did as well as the one I didn't plan on doing or putting up. THANK THE LORD I didn't delete it. More people quote that video to me than any of my other 8 Hundred and fifty something videos.

Geneva: "Naughty Girl" Stand up was hilarious do you try out your bits before you take them to the stage?

GloZell: Girl No never! I wouldn't have the nerve to if I did. I think of something and go for it.I tell myself ... this has to be funny or else. I think that's why I'm a mess backstage. I am always trying something different.

Geneva: Many actors, Comics, and artist have a routine if not superstition before they hit the stage do you have one?

GloZell: Panic ... LOL I pray. I don't drink or smoke (never tried it) so prayer is what I do.

Geneva: What is the craziest thing a fan has ever done or said to you?

GloZell: let's see something I wouldn't mind telling the public. Geneva honey you know there are some way out people in the world. Oh I did a video about how I need to buy new bras... and someone wants to buy my old bras for 50 dollars each. I have nice fans... they make GloZell T-Shirts, live size GloZell cut outs, posters, they remake my videos, write songs about me. Very very nice group.

Geneva: You are the Queen of Youtube, out of all your videos what is your favorite?

GloZell: If I have to pick one it would have to be "My Push up Bra will help me get my man back."

Geneva: What advice would you give to upcoming comic's?

GloZell: Good Comics and Bad ones. So many bad, unfunny comics still make it. They have nerve to get on stage, get booed and keep going because that's what they want to do an they believe in themselves. So just keep going don't stop. Someone will find you and use you for something.

Geneva: Thanks again for agreeing to this interview, and is there anything you would like to add before we go? Also don't forget to tell the people where to find you!

GloZell :Thank you Geneva for wanting to interview me. I just like to say I appreciate the interest in my work. I am so gleeful that MILLIONS of people look at my videos, laugh and post them. Please check me out on GloZell1 on You Tube, Http://www.twitter.com/GloZell , my blog GloZell.com and GloZell Green on Facebook.

Ricky Jewelz - The Interview

Ricky Jewelz Interview
When The Lime Light is Shinning
Interview By: Geneva Relf

Geneva: Ricky first off thank you for taking the time out to do this interview today!

Ricky Jewelz: No problem thank yall!

Geneva: It's impossible I know, but for those who haven't heard of Ricky Jewelz can you tell them what they are mission out on?

Ricky Jewelz:  Rick Jewelz Colorado born, LA resident. Artist/Producer/Songwriter

Geneva: Now I understand that your from Denver, Colorado correct?

Ricky Jewelz: yurpp Denver by way of Aurora

Geneva: Now how did you get started in the music business? Who were your musical inspirations?

Ricky Jewelz:  I started writing lyrics at 6 years old, and started making my own tapes at 8 years old, and just been going ever since. Some influences of mine are Dr. Dre, Snoop, Jay Z, Kanye West, etc.

Geneva: If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be and why?

Ricky Jewelz: Workaholic. All I do is work on music. I even go to school to be an engineer. So all the hours I'm awake I'm working on music.

Geneva: Now "The Rebellion" was your first album project how did that come about?

Ricky Jewelz: I just always would do mixtapes and then a DJ finally decided to host one of mine, thus the Rebellion was made.

Geneva: Now you recently worked with Gucci Mane what was that like? How did this collaboration come about?

Ricky Jewelz:  It was coo, track came out dope. But it originally started as a mixtape track on my "I didn't Know That vol.2" mixtape. But people were saying I should get Gucci Mane on it. Made a few calls and made it happen.

Geneva: Now you don't just rap, I understand that you also produce and a songwriter? Do you think that gives you an advantage in the music game?

Ricky Jewelz: Yeah I definitely think it gives me an advantage in the music game because not all artist do all those things, or excel at all of them. My strong suit is in writing, I'm a lyrical artist so writing for different genres and different artist is easy for me.

Geneva: What is coming up for you next, where can we see you or hear from you?

Ricky Jewelz: Up next we got my "The WAIT mixtape" and after that we got "The ARRIVAL mixtape" one hosted by DJ Messiah and one hosted by DJ CapCom. We also got the "Money'N'Girlz" video coming soon featuring my homie Spark Dawg. So look for me on your radios and TV's this summer.

Geneva: Who do you hope to work with in the future or collaborate with again?

Ricky Jewelz: In the future I hope to work with Kanye West, Jay Z, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, etc. Hope to work with Fabolous again, along with Rich Hil, and Freck.

Geneva: Now the ladies want to know are you single or just career focused right now?

Ricky Jewelz: I'm single, and always career focused. But still got time for lovely young lady ;).

Geneva: What do you do to relax, it's been a long day in the studio on the road. What do you to calm down and just come back to center?

Ricky Jewelz:  To relax I'll usually chill back and smoke a blunt, maybe watch a movie, or read the Bible.

Geneva: What is the most difficult part about being young in the industry?

Ricky Jewelz: A lot of people are gonna test you, to see how good you are at what you do. They underestimate until you give them a reason to respect you.

Geneva: What advice would you give for the next upcoming producer, or rap artist that want the lime light?

Ricky Jewelz: Grind hard, don't sleep, keep God first in everything you do.

Geneva: Thank you so much for your time and is there anything you would like to say before we go?

Ricky Jewelz:  Anytime. But shouts to F.F.E/GMB Starr Scream, Street Fam, and all the fans, and of course yall for the interview!

Rachel Fine - Behind The Music

Geneva: Rachel thanks so much for agreeing to this interview! How are you today?

Rachel : Getting better all the time!!! I'm doing great, Geneva. Happy to talk to you.

Geneva: Rachel for those that may need to be introduced to you. Can you introduce yourself?

Rachel: Sure, I'm a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, NY & I do a blend of electronica & neo-soul- think Portishead meets Jill Scott.

Geneva: How did you get started in the music business?

Rachel: Music's been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I think it started becoming a "business" for me about two years ago when I began working on this album. At some point in your life you've gotta go big or go home, and this sound, this album, has been my big roll of the dice. Of all the music I've done, it's the project I stand most strongly behind.

Geneva: Now your debut album "Own your Own" what inspired that title?

Rachel: The album is really about honesty. About claiming who you are- the good and the bad. Owning it. I share a lot of myself on this album- I wrote all the lyrics and they're all true experiences from my life. As difficult as some of that is to fess up to, there is something freeing about tell the world "this is me- this is the truth of who I am". I think if everybody just owned up to themselves and stood proudly in who they were, we'd all be a little less effed up :) lol

Geneva: Your new released album is a combination of mixed genre's. From the 70's to hip hop what inspired you to do that?

Rachel: I worked with my producer and long-time friend Timothy Schletter on the vibe of this album. After we decided to explore a sound together, we pulled our influences and really tried to find something new that really resonated with us both. We definitely have a bit of a throw back sound- we get some Winehouse comparisons because of that, but there's a good amount of electronic and even subtle hip hop flavors in there.

Geneva: Now you work for Howard Stern what is that like?

Rachel: It's AMAZING. I was a fan for years before this opportunity came along, so it truly is a dream come true. I've never had more fun in my life.

Geneva: Now your a business women with many talents. Would you consider yourself a role model for young women today?

Rachel: It's a tough question- I work on a television show that's certainly not appropriate for children, so I wouldn't want them watching! But, on a personal level, I think all young women would benefit from finding the truth in themselves and "owning" it, as I do through my music. I know what it's like to go through tough teenage years. More than anything, I hope that in the brutal, embarrassing honesty of my lyrics, young girls will feel like someone understands them and that it's ok to be less than perfect.

Geneva: The Bonus Show on Howard TV how did that get started?

Rachel: I auditioned last October, we shot the pilot in November, got picked up in December and started filming in January! The rest is history :)

Geneva: Now what advice would you give to young women trying to break into the industry?

Rachel: It really is about persistence and an unwavering belief in yourself. People will discourage you and haters will dismiss you, but it's the people who don't give up, who relentlessly push forward that really succeed. Don't be afraid to go hard. Don't hold back. Put blinders on and visualize what you want.

Geneva: What do you think is the biggest mistake upcoming women in the industry?

Rachel: Well, for women specifically, I think it's easy to mistake a gatekeeper's advances. Guys in positions of power will try to promise you the world in hopes of intimacy. Women who fall for that never get anywhere. Not only that, if you think you need to sleep with someone to be successful, you're really betting against your own talent and abilities. You're telling yourself you can't make it on your own merits. Keep your wits about you and run your business like a business.

Geneva: Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?

Rachel: You know, Geneva, if I looked that far ahead, I think I'd get overwhelmed. When I started making this album, I couldn't think about printing and distribution and licensing a finished product. I just sat with my best friend Tim and found a cool groove to our first song. I think you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other towards what feels good and trust that you'll get there.

Geneva: The Song "Potential" (which is available on i-tunes now) how did this track come about?

Rachel: The song "Potential" is about falling in love with who someone COULD be, rather than who they actually are. My ex had so many amazing qualities and I saw the best in him, who he could be if he just tried a little harder. But ultimately, there comes a point where you have to accept someone for who they choose to be. That's what this verse is about:

Now I see I'm loving
The shadow of a man
Strong and picture perfect
It appears against the land
But what is your potential if
It never comes to light
Can't see a shadow
When day turns to night.

Geneva: When it comes to song, how do you know it's a hit?

Rachel: I'm actually not that concerned about whether it's a hit or not. I'm concerned with the integrity of the lyrics, a groove that makes me move a little and an overall excited sense of YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! If I'm vibing on it, I know there are other people out there who will feel me. I would rather have a long term, loyal group of fans who truly understand who I am and what I'm trying to say than put out huge club-bangers that don't represent me.

Geneva: Who would you like to collaborate with music wise?

Rachel: EMINEM! His rhythms are SICK. I don't think there's a lyricist or rapper out there that can do what he does. I love the Dido collab for Stan and I think my music would be an amazing fit. Em, if you're listening, call me :)

Geneva: Can you take us through a Rachel Fine day?

Rachel: Wow. Tough one. So unpredictable! I left "Corporate America" a year and a half ago to go full time in the entertainment field, so I'm working longer, harder hours now for myself than I ever did before. Here's a "typical" day: Up at 8:30 to put a couple hours in at the gym. Morning coffee and at least an hour of social networking stuff (I try to respond to everyone on twitter, fb, myspace, youtube, etc). Following up with new radio stations that want to add our music to their rotation, doing print and phone interviews, sending off press kits to people who need them. Shopping for wardrobe, either for a concert or for Stern that week. Meeting with my publicist. Working on next week's Stern scripts or writing my blog. Band reheasals OR a show at night. Editing the video or audio footage from the last show. Impromptu meetings with various important people who seem to pop up out of nowhere everyday and need to meet with 20 minutes notice. Another hour at the gym, a good hour of super crappy reality tv, asleep at 1am. That's actually a pretty good representation of my life 7 days a week.

Geneva: If you could describe yourself in one word. What would it be and why?

Rachel: Driven, definitely. I don't stop. If I want something, I will find a way to get it done.

Geneva: Rachel thanks again for agreeing to this interview. Is there anything you would like to say before we go? Also don't forget to tell us and your fans where to find you!

Rachel: The best place to find out what's going on is http://rachelfine.com . Geneva, thanks so much for taking the time to talk. I hope some new people will check out the tunes! I think if you really spend time with my music, you'll find there's something genuine there to connect to. I'm so appreciative of my fans and so thankful for the opportunity to share myself through such a creative medium. Thanks for listening :)

Nikera Clothing: I built the line myself. From the ground up!

Geneva: When it comes to fashion trends, what is the one trend that should never make a comeback?

Nikera Clothing: Hmm that is hard to say. I thought I would never see acid washed jeans or suspenders again but they showed up on the scene again. If I had to choose I guess it would be Capri Pants. If done with a retro twist I can handle, but too many women and men rocked this trend casually and I just did not like it all.

Geneva: Now I understand you're working on a new campaign for the summer can you tell us a little bit about what is coming up?

Nikera Clothing: We are releasing free tees to select kids nationwide, mostly city socialites, fashion bloggers, and Artists. We are asking everyone to rock their NIKERA CLOTHING Tee in the streets of their city in a new and creative way. The images they submit will be posted on our website for the entire summer. We thought it would be a cool way to show our appreciation to our customers, fans, and followers by allowing them to bless our walls of the website!

Geneva: When it comes to fashion what are the key elements to putting together that perfect outfit?

Nikera Clothing: SHOES. The more outrageous and different the better. That is the only item of clothing you should really invest money in. Too many women and men spend hundreds on the top, bottom, and bag. In reality, people only envy your footwear. You can purchase a $300 pair of designer pumps and spend $24 on your NIKERA CLOTHING Tee and $60 on the funky skirt  and you will look like you stepped out of VOGUE!

Geneva: Nikera Clothing how did that name come about?

Nikera Clothing: My childhood nickname is Nikki. I wanted to create my own Era of Fashion..so I created Nikki's Era *NIKERA*

Geneva: When it comes to being a designer what is the hardest part?

Nikera Clothing: Knowing the business side of the house. You can quickly lose focus and your creativity if you spend too much time on the business side, but you can also lose control if you spend too much time designing. There is definitely a balance that has to take place. I thought all I had to do was sit at home and sketch and do fabric choices, but I quickly learned that the business aspect is just as important if not more important. Designers don't fail because of the designs. They fail because of the lack of marketing, branding, press, etc. These areas are extremely important and you will need to know exactly how this process works in order to be successful. I have to know everything. So I research the jobs of Marketing Directors, Publicists, Accountants, and Lawyers.

Geneva: Where can we find Nikera Clothing?

Nikera Clothing: Right now we are exclusively online only. www.nikeraclothingonline.com Store Locations coming soon!

Geneva: Did you always want to be in the fashion industry?

Nikera Clothing: Yes, I sketched as a little girl. I was always drawing pictures of women in colorful dresses and hats. It is something that has always been in me. As an adult you lose focus and you forget about those dreams and talents. You replace them with things that are safe and secure like corporate and government jobs. I wanted to live again. I wanted to attempt to live out my dreams and fantasies, so I just went for it!

Geneva: What is next for Nikera Clothing?

Nikera Clothing: Hmm good question! This year I want to focus more on marketing and branding. I am working on getting the apparel in the hands of high profile stylists and individuals within the TV Network. Don't be surprised if you catch us on a few MTV shows and videos this summer. The whole movement is fed off of FASHION+MUSIC so the possibilities are endless!

Geneva: Thanks again for this opportunity to interview you. Is there anything you would like to say before we go?

Nikera Clothing: I have three amazing proteges right now. These young women are from three different cities but they all love and adore the fashion industry. I just want to say to all of the young women and men...FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND DREAMS! You can be anything you can imagine! I am a living witness of that! Take advantage of social media and connect with designers and people you wish to be one day. There are tons of great people in this industry who will give you an opportunity if you just ask and take the time to reach out. Other than that, thank you again Geneva for this lovely interview. I wish you the very best Sis! God Bless.

CITY HAZE- THE FUTURE OF NYC

City Haze the Future of NYC
Interview By: Geneva Relf

Geneva: City Haze thank you for agreeing to this interview today!

City Haze: No problem ! Thanks for being interested !

Geneva: Now your from NYC the home of many great legends do you feel that pressure sometimes being from there?

City Haze: It is what it is . I think there's enough pressure from just being an Artist on a fast come up , staying consistent and trying to remain in the loop of things . As far as the Hip-Hop itself , of course there's a lot of pressure representing the Mecca where it all started . Now a days everybody wants to be a rapper and but there are some who don't understand the difference between Rap being the genre and Hip-Hop being the culture.

Geneva: Now how did you come up with the name "City Haze" ?

City Haze: There's no crazy story behind it . City represents being the future of NYC and as far as Haze...At this point in my career it's just so catchy and it sounds good when females call me by it. (Laughs)

Geneva: Now you have few new projects out already, "Tell Me Whats Good" Ft. K.O. and " Lost In Tokyo" with all the buzz about these tracks how do you feel?

City Haze: Im still very humble about it but at the same time I feel very accomplished . The release/promo campaign that was set up for these records went just as planned . One record was for the Hip-Hop community & the other leaned more towards mainstream consumers . I played a card and it was the PERFECT move ! They are completely two different records and fans were introduced to my versatility and creativity as an Artist .

Geneva: Now "Lost In Tokyo" was produced by the legend RZA (Wu-Tang) what was it like working with him?

City Haze: For true Hip-Hop lovers who wouldn't want to work with The RZA? For 2010 I wanted to start the year off releasing something that was very left field and "Lost In Tokyo" was the perfect direction . Some only know City Haze for releasing smooth cut Hip-Hop/R&B records . So I decided to take it back to straight up lyricism on this one and for RZA to be behind the boards is a blessing . I believe "Lost In Tokyo" is already labeled as an City Haze classic .

Geneva: You have been featured in many magazines so far, when did it hit you that your a star? That your music is getting recognized?

City Haze: Last summer in 2009 me and my publicist were invited to an Magazine release party . It was actually my first red carpet as well . It was strictly for fashion but it amazed me that a lot of people who attended actually knew who i were . These one set of females who we introduced ourselves too went crazy once my publicist said "And this is City Haze" (Laughs) from that moment on I knew I was born to be a star . To go somewhere and feel appreciated for doing something that you actually have a passion for...there's nothing like it !

Geneva: Being young in the industry do you feel that the pressure is on now more then ever to be great in the studio?

City Haze: They say when your young is when your most marketable, so I guess so . I will always do music ! Nobody can ever convince me to stop doing what I love . I take the word "Pressure" seriously but it doesn't intimidate me . In my eyes the word "Pressure" applies when it comes to keeping fans attached to your music .

Geneva: Who do you aspire to work with in the future?

City Haze: Honestly..I'll work with anybody as long as it's good music . Me being a major fan of R&B/Pop music I would definitely be willing to work with Ryan Leslie , Jamie Foxx , D'Angelo , Keri Hilson , Pharrell , Justin Timberlake , Chromeo and many more.

Geneva: Now your a busy young man, so what upcoming projects can we look forward to next?

City Haze: I have a few new records and new videos to drop before the street album "Star Of The City" releases on May 10th .Other than that I will mostly be doing a bunch of shows through out the Spring and Summer .I'm thinking about releasing a mixtape but I don't want to really jump the gun on that just yet .

Geneva: When it comes to being a artist what do you think is the biggest hurdle most of you face?

City Haze: Besides new artists trying to break-out & shine in the music industry....I honestly believe that to many artists focus on trying to fit in instead of just standing out . When I first started back in 2008 I knew exactly what I wanted to do and how I would use my personality to the best of my ability . For those who follow my music it's pretty clear to them what type of person I am . The word "Image" plays a major role in an artists career and it's up to him/her how they paint it .

Geneva: Now you also write your own lyrics correct? Do you feel your audience understands you better that way?

City Haze: Yes I write my own lyrics and my audience definitely understands me better that way ! Especially when it comes to females (Laughs) . Most females first impression of me is "cool , laid-back and smooth" and that's how I am on a regular basis . For those who have heard previous records that were a bit more serious...those songs showed that even though im laid back & cool I still have my up's and downs just like any other human being . So with that being said...Music to me and to millions more is the best way for somebody to openly express themselves .

Geneva: Now the ladies are going to want to know, is City Haze taken or just being borrowed?

City Haze: Borrowed like sugar in the hood , hahaha!

Geneva: Thanks again so much for taking the time to do this interview. Is their anything you would like to add before we close out?

City Haze: Once again thanks for being interested and for everyone else feel free to check me out at Myspace.com/CityHaze718 and tweet me at Twitter.com/CityHaze .

It was a pleasure to interview such a humble young man, he is a very talented young man so make sure you keep your ears out for him! He said it best "Now a days everybody wants to be a rapper and but there are some who don't understand the difference between Rap being the genre and Hip-Hop being the culture."  I agree with that statement, well hope you enjoyed learning more about City Haze who is becoming the future of NYC sooner then you think!
