APRIL 12, 2011 - Welcome America announced today that four-time Grammy award-winning band The Roots will headline the Philly Fourth of July Jam. The band and their musical director, ?uestlove will be performing their set as well as sets with special guests such as  Earth, Wind and FireMichael McDonaldEstelleSara Bareilles;DJ Jazzy Jeff and many more on Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 4th! The festival starts on June 24, 2011 with the concert kicking off at noon on Independence Day.

Musical Director ?uestlove states,  "We are excited to help put together such a great show! Philly's a natural fit for the Fourth of July concert - The Fourth of July on the Parkway should be to Philly what New Years Eve in Times Square is to New York."

The concert will also include a special tribute to the 40th Anniversary of Gamble and Huff's iconic Philadelphia International Records, "The Sound of Philadelphia." "Being from Philly, it's a privilege to pay homage to the pioneers of Philadelphia soul. We are putting together a great tribute and the crowd is definitely in for a few surprises," said ?uestlove.

Scott Mirkin has served as Welcome America's Executive Producer since 2008 and is a live event and television producer with a career spanning 20 years in the industry. He has produced major concert tours and events for Major League Baseball, The White House, Non-Profit organizations among others.

Wawa Welcome America! is a multi-day festival that celebrates America's birthday in America's birthplace, Philadelphia. Festivities continue through July 4th and include two additional fireworks displays and a full day (and night!) of festivities.
